Privacy Policy
This site collects almost nothing about you. The only details we ever see are the ones you type into the enquiry form and choose to send — your name, your email address, your mobile if you give it, and your message. There is no analytics, no tracking and no sign-in anywhere on the site.
1. Who we are
We’re StingRay Boxing, a boxing gym at 56 Klingner Rd, Redcliffe QLD 4020. This policy covers this website and the enquiries you send us through it.
If you have a question about this policy, email us at mike@stingrayboxing.com.au or call Grahame on 0423 892 761.
2. What we collect
From you, only what you put in the enquiry form: your name, your email address, your mobile number if you give it, and your message. The mobile number is optional, and nothing is added that you can’t see on the page in front of you.
When you press Send enquiry, those details are sent to this website’s own server, which passes them straight to our email provider so the enquiry lands in the gym’s inbox. Nothing is written to a database — the email is the record. If your browser has JavaScript switched off, the form cannot run its spam check and will not send. It shows our email address instead, so you can write to us directly from your own email app.
The enquiry form is protected by a spam check from Cloudflare, which works out whether you are a person rather than a bot before we accept an enquiry. It loads with the home page — not only when you send something — so opening that page is enough for your browser to contact Cloudflare and for Cloudflare to receive your IP address and some technical details about your browser. Our Cookies Policy describes it in full.
The website itself stores nothing on your device and sets no cookies of its own.
Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs — the IP address a request came from, the browser type and the pages requested — so the site stays up and secure. Those logs are a normal part of hosting and we don’t use them for anything else.
3. How we use it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, answer your questions and organise your first class. That’s all.
We won’t put you on a mailing list or send you marketing unless you ask to join one, and you can ask to come off it again at any time.
4. Where it is kept and for how long
Your enquiry sits in StingRay Boxing’s email system, and a copy passes through Postmark, the service that delivers it, which keeps sent messages for a limited period under its own terms. We delete enquiries after 12 months, or sooner once we no longer need them. We never sell your details, and we don’t hand them to anyone else for marketing.
Three of the services this site depends on sit outside Australia, so some of your data is disclosed overseas: Vercel, which hosts the site and keeps the server logs described above; Cloudflare, which runs the spam check on the enquiry form and receives your IP address when it does; and Postmark, which delivers your enquiry to the gym’s inbox and therefore handles the name, email address, mobile and message you sent. Each applies its own privacy terms to what it holds.
5. Enquiries about people under 18
If the enquiry is about someone under 18, a parent or guardian needs to send it. Please don’t send us a young person’s details unless you’re their parent or guardian.
6. Links to other sites
This site links out to Google Maps so you can find us, and it may link to our social media pages. Once you follow a link like that you’re on someone else’s service, covered by their privacy policy and their cookies rather than ours — so it’s worth reading theirs if you’re not sure what they collect.
7. Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email mike@stingrayboxing.com.au and we’ll sort it out. There’s no charge for asking.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, tell us first so we have a chance to put it right. If you’re still not satisfied, you can take the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change the way we handle your details, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top. The version on this page is the one that applies.
